International Internship Program

The IYNS International Internship Program spans over three weeks, offering participants immersive experiences through workshops, training sessions, and practical exposure at world-renowned facilities. The program is open to a limited number of highly motivated students who meet the eligibility criteria. The program is designed to foster the development of young talent and inspire future innovators in the nuclear field.

Internship Structure

The 3-week program is structured to provide participants with a comprehensive learning
experience

Week 1:

Online Workshop & Training (India)

The first week includes an online workshop and training program, open to all eligible applicants. This virtual module provides foundational knowledge and prepares participants for the upcoming onsite experience.

Weeks 2 & 3

Onsite Internship (France)

The next two weeks are conducted in France, where selected students will have the opportunity to work and learn at leading institutions such as ITER, Universities and Observatories. Participants will engage in various research projects, participate in hands-on workshops, and gain invaluable exposure to cutting-edge scientific advancements.

Valedictory Ceremony & Certification:

On the final day of the internship, a Valedictory Ceremony is held, where participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Each intern will also be required to submit a project report deliver a presentation summarizing their learning experiences and contributions during the internship.

The Indian Youth Nuclear Society (IYNS) proudly presents the experience of first batch of students of its prestigious International Internship Program at ITER, France.

Meet Hrit Gupta and Raghav Garg, students from Shiv Nadar School, who happily share the experience of their internship at ITER. This visit provided them hands-on experience at ITER France, where interacted with international experts and got an opportunity to get involved in their research. These two students were selected after a rigid selection procedure and a final interview.

Spectrum Impact

'Spectrum Impact' is the family office of Mr. Rajendra and Mrs. Arti Gogri. Mr. Rajendra Gogri is the Chairman and Managing Director of Aarti Industries Ltd., a large listed Speciality Chemical company.

Key Dates and Application Process

The program is announced annually on December 1, with a structured application
and selection process:

Application Submission (Deadline: January 20)

  • Students must submit a CV and a Motivation Letter detailing their interest in the program and aspirations.
  • Applications are reviewed by a Selection Jury (Jury 1), which shortlists candidates for interviews.

2.

Interview Process:

  • Shortlisted Candidates Announcement:January 31
  • Interview Dates: February 1 to February 15
  • Interviews are conducted to assess the student's aptitude, interest, and potential.
  • Final Selection Announcement:February 28, with the successful candidates being chosen by Jury 2.

Documentation Submission (Deadline: March 15)

Final selected students must submit the following documents:

  • Internship request form
  • Signed internship contract
  • Passport copy
  • Updated CV
  • Motivation letter
  • Travel itinerary
  • Invitation letters (issued by host institutions)
  • Copy of visa (for international travel)
  • Bonafide Certificate for Government Schools

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the IYNS International Internship Program, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of India with a valid Indian passport.
  • Be a student in Class 10-12 (CBSE, IB, or equivalent).
  • Provide an authorization letter from their school.
  • Provide an authorization letter/(consent letter) from their parents.

This eligibility ensures that students who are passionate about science and have a strong
academic foundation can benefit from the program.

Financial Information

The program is designed to be accessible to students while maintaining high standards of learning and exposure:

  • No internship fees are charged by any of the institutions in France.
  • There are no reimbursements or stipends provided for travel or accommodation.
  • IYNS charges two separate fees to cover administrative expenses related to the internship.
    • Registration Fees of INR 10,000/- (Ten Thousand Rupees Only)
    • Administrative Fees of INR 15,000/- (Fifteen Thousand Rupees Only) for Selected Candidates Only
    • The Students from Government Schools will not be charged any Registration and Administrative Fees
  • The program is self-funded, meaning that participants are responsible for covering all associated costs (travel, accommodation, and other personal expenses).

For exceptional candidates, the Spectrum-Impact Fellowship provides a fully-funded opportunity, awarded to one student per year. This fellowship covers the full cost of the program, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to this prestigious opportunity.

Selection Process

The IYNS International Internship Program follows a highly selective process to ensure only the best candidates are chosen:

  1. Application Review by Jury 1:
    Applications are thoroughly reviewed based on academic excellence, motivation, and suitability for the program.
  2. Interview and Final Selection by Jury 2:
    Shortlisted candidates undergo an interview process, during which their potential for growth and contribution to the field of nuclear science is evaluated. Following the interviews, five outstanding students are selected to participate in the onsite internship in France.

Note: The five selected students will be accompanied by an IYNS representative during their time in France, ensuring proper guidance and support throughout the internship.
